Daniel asks…

Is there any Online Counselling websites i could register to as a counsellor?

I am not BACP registered but i am registered on other boards such as C.T.A and National UK Therapists Register MSFTR. Is there any websites who are looking for counsellors who have not been trained to university level but had plenty of training through courses of diploma’s and NVQ’s.
Or is there any good advertising agencies for my online counselling website?
Thanks for your help

Lizzie asks…

Advice/ tips on starting an online ad agency?

I have great passion and a very brief/general understanding of ‘most’ online advertising methods such as SEO, Banners, Pay Per Click, etc…

What would be the best exercise or strategy to do, to be very confident enough to start up an online agency? I do not feel confident for some reason, is it a problem due to lack of in-depth knowledge in certain areas/tactics?

admin answers:

Don’t do it. Get a real job. Never depend on others for your income.

Questions about online advertising?

Hi guys, I’ve got a few questions about web advertising.

I’m not sure about the terms and jargon, so it’s best that I represent them in a case. Say for example, ACME Advertising Agency expressed their interested to advertise in www.somewebsite.com. The advertisements is about GreasyBurger Co. and it will displayed on somewebsite.com for 15 days. Here’s the question.

Does GreasyBurger Co. advertisements on somewebsite.com consumes bandwidth and space on somewebsite.com’s server?

Are advertisements materials such as pictures, animation, etc stored in somewebsite.com’s server or is it stored in ACME’s server instead?

How does an owner of a website charge advertisers? Are advertisers charged by the number of days the ads will be displayed or something else?

Suppose if a somewebsite.com experienced a downtime or does not meet the requirements of the ACME in the duration of the ads being displayed, how does somewebsite.com make up to it? Are they suppose to refund or provide other forms of compensation?

How does ACME keep track of ads that are being displayed on somewebsite.com and how do they know if the the clicks come somewebsite.com?

Thanks in advance.

*This question is not about making money from home etc. I just want to know how online advertising works.

admin answers:

There is no one answer. Except chances are the bandwidth is not coming from the somwebsite.com but a third party is hosting the advertising content.

There are many third party things like this: a few are:

http://advertising.yahoo.com/

adwords
Even MySpace will allow you to advertise if you get in contact with htem.

Smaller website often have a third party selling the advertising space for them– but not all are that way.

Like I said, huge vauge answers until you study it on a per-site-basis.

Maria asks…

Are there any flash development jobs in Canada, specifically in Toronto?

Or, to break it down a little further, is there a good online job portal to search for jobs of Flash | ActionScript | Rich Internet Applications development (Web development in general).

Plus, are there any good online advertising agencies one should keep an eye on when considering moving to canada.

admin answers:

Probably nothing that specific.

Nancy asks…

Advertising agencies in Singapore?

I am looking for a directory listing of advertising agencies in Singapore. Is there any available online with their contact information? Specifically, I am looking to work in Singapore and want this information to send my resume.

admin answers:

Companies will usually advertise for vacancies in the newspapers/online jobs websites or by words of mouth. Rather than sending your resumes all over the island, you can ask your friends in Singapore to keep a lookout for you or check out these general online job sites:

http://www.jobsdb.com/SG/

http://www.jobscentral.com.sg/

http://www.jobstreet.com.sg/

http://www.monster.com.sg/

http://www.singaporejobsonline.com/

Alternatively you can also check out the Career Resources Center for Expatriates: http://www.aasingapore.com/programs/crce.shtml
or add the ‘Recruit’ section of local newspaper ‘Straits Times’ to her list of hunting grounds when you are here.

Good luck job hunting!
